National Computing Competition Winners 2022

At Claygate Primary School, we are always looking for ways to celebrate our learning, and entering into competitions is a great way to keep that passion for learning alive. CPS were invited to enter Promethean's 'Classroom Stories Competition 2022' - the requirement was to create a video sharing how we celebrate learning at CPS or to just tell a particular story about our school.

Many brilliant ideas were discussed though the children really wanted to show off our Worry Monsters and how they help children with problems around the school.

After the script was written (in a Dr Seuss-esque style), the children helped to film the shots using an iPad. Other children practised their drama skills by acting in the video; some becoming puppeteers to bring the Worry Monster to life, whilst others demonstrated their brilliant dramatics by looking sad (the children were obviously all extremely happy really!).

Once it had been filmed, some children worked with a teacher to edit the shots using iMovie.

The video was chosen as one of the competition's winning entries, earning the school a brand new Promethean ActivePanel interactive board as well as an immense amount of pride and achievement for the children.

"The standard of applications this year has been amazing, and [CPS] are a well deserving recipient of a Promethean ActivPanel. Our guest judges loved your video entry!" - Annette Brown, Sr. Regional Marketing Manager UKI, Promethean
