Computer Science Week 2022

CPS celebrated Computer Science Week with another exciting Computer Science Fair. Throughout the week, children from across the whole school joined Mr Godfrey and a team of Year 6 champions for inspiring activities to get them 'buzzing' about Computing. These activities included favourites such as: green screen, coding and programming using scratch, bee bots and Lego WeDo, creating music on sound boards as well as the much-loved banana piano. However, the greatest buzz was for our exciting new feature - VR kits! (which were loaned from the tech team at Eduthing).

The children learned a little about circuits, algorithms and loops during their session. Here's what our Computing Champions had to say:

Computer Science Week was really fun and I took pleasure in helping out. It was really enjoyable watching the younger children smile and have fun. My favourite part was the VR headsets because they were very immersive and we could explore a new world. I really enjoyed the Green Screen because we could really have fun acting and trying out new places. Overall, we loved helping out, and it was a great experience. - Abbie and Jasper (Year 6).
