Orienteering

This is a favourite of many! The children are faced with challenges focused around orienteering and most involve collaborative puzzle solving, developing resilience amongst the teams. Activities such as moving an obstacle from A to B with of course additional rules can be quite a challenge indeed!

Orienteering activities encourage the children to think and act creatively, thus developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be applied in all areas of learning. Our children are encouraged to take responsible roles and make choices – to participate in and guide their own learning.

These activities are linked to the Geography National Curriculum, building upon children's understanding of maps and directions, as well as developing their teamwork skills through elements of PSHE.
