Secondary Schools

When they leave Claygate at the end of Year 6, children move on to a number of different secondary schools, in both the state and independent sectors. Around 70% of children have historically transferred to Esher High and Hinchley Wood, in roughly equal numbers, with the remainder moving on to independent schools and other state schools in Surrey and Kingston. In the last three years, in addition to Hinchley Wood and Esher High, Year 6 pupils have transferred to Chessington School, Hampton, Reed's, Kingston Grammar, Tiffin Boys and Tiffin Girls, Royal Grammar (Guildford), Tolworth Girls, Claremont, Surbiton High, and many others.

Claygate is currently in the catchment area for both Hinchley Wood and Esher High and is a feeder school for both schools.  This does not however guarantee a place but means that children who attend a feeder school and who live in the catchment area will have a higher priority.

The table below shows the destination of our children for the past three years.
