Pupil Leadership
Welcome to Pupil Leadership at CPS. At Claygate, the children have the chance to become either a school councillor or a class ambassador. Things are looking slightly different to normal at the moment, so instead of our weekly meetings, we have moved to a remote style instead.
School council
As we have been busy learning about Democracy, we have seen Year 1 through to Year 6 hold an anonymous election at the start of the year to vote for their new School Council member. One member is chosen per class to represent their views and to feedback on any discussions had. School council allows the children to have a say in the decisions that affect them. They can promote and support what they believe in.
With our new school council books, we are able to record questionnaires and pupil feedback ready to share with the rest of the team. We are thoroughly looking forward to what we would like to achieve this year, and how to ensure we can be the best school possible. We aim to make the children feel safe and welcome and to express their views and opinions about their community.

Class Ambassadors
Each class from Year 1 to Year 6 has a class ambassador chosen by the class teacher. This is an important role which includes meeting and greeting visitors, to explain their role, and to discuss their learning from the classroom. They also liaise with the class School Council Member, show fantastic communication skills, and are reliable and committed. Our Class Ambassadors lead by example and can be relied upon to uphold the school values and ethos.
