Welcome to Year 6 – we have an exciting and fulfilling year ahead of us! It is a year that will both challenge and motivate us, as well as help us to prepare for our transition into Key Stage 3.
By the end of this year we hope to master key skills including time management, personal organisation, independence in our learning and an enhanced growth mindset.
Let’s not forget all of the hard work that we will be undertaking in preparation for SATs tests in the week of the 13th May 2019. However in Year 6 we like to work hard and play hard and we will continue with a rich and broad curriculum, engaging in topics including WW1 and WW2, Rivers of the World and the Titanic. Do look at our Topic Web for more information
In Year 6 we celebrate perseverance, resilience and risk taking, ensuring children welcome challenge and are not afraid to make mistakes. This is delivered through participation in sports, drama and our end of year trip to Bude. We look forward to working with you and your children in delivering a successful and memorable last year at Claygate Primary School.
